Purpose
To receive an update on the Seniors' Bus Pilot project.
Summary
Parkland County applied for and was successful in receiving funding from the New Horizon Grant Program through the Government of Canada (the Funder) to pilot a seniors transportation program servicing Parkland's west hamlets. The pilot project launch was originally scheduled for in July 2023 and run until March 2024 however due to the wildfires in 2023, the pilot did not launch till Dec 2023. The Funder granted the project an extension to March 2025. The bus has been in operation for 7 months.
