Title
10:00 a.m. Public Hearing - Bylaw 2025-07 - Road Closure - Sale (Meridian 5 Range 6 Township 52 Plan 822 1031)

Proposed Motion
1. That Bylaw 2025-07 receive first reading.

Body
Administration Recommendation
Administration supports the proposed motion to receive first reading. Following the completion of the public hearing and first reading, the bylaw will be forwarded to Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors (ATEC) for review and approval.

Purpose
To close a portion of road allowance for the purpose of sale and consolidation into adjacent lands.

Summary
This closure application has been made by Larry and Laurie Zimmer for a portion of the Range Road 63 road allowance as described by survey plan 822 1031. This road allowance widening was acquired by the County in 1982 as a widening to the existing road allowance. The Jack Pine Grazing Reserve lies to the north and the road allowance along the Zimmer property passes through a low lying and forested area. Closing and consolidating this road allowance widening will address concerns with the proximity of the residence to the road allowance as well as address some minor encroachments of the yard into the road allowance. The southwest corner of the residence is currently approximately 3m from the closest point of the road allowance. The proposed closure will not impact the 20m statutory road allowance along the west side of the parcel.

An internal Parkland County circulation and preliminary inquiries to Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors (ATEC) and Alberta Forestry and Parks were completed with no concerns identified.

Historical Information
The road allowance widening to be closed and sold was surveyed in 1981 and registered in 1982.
