Title
'Seed An Idea' funding request

Proposed Motion:
That Council accept the presentation as information and direct Administration to bring forward a recommendation on the funding request to the May 22, 2012 Council Meeting.

Body
Administration Recommendation
Administration recommendation is that Council accept the presentation as information and that a recommendation for funding be brought forward to the May 22, 2012 Council meeting.

Background
The Multicultural Heritage Agricultural Society is seeking a contribution of $75,000 towards a program for a Young Agricultural Entrepreneurs Program.  this project has been outlined by Judy Unterschultz in a presentation to Council.  the concept is an interesting one which Administration would like to further explore.  Administration is presently in the process of entering into an M.O.U. with Green Hectares on a program that will encourages rural business development in Parkland County by supporting young entrepreneurs between the ages of 18 and 35 years.

In order to ensure that these two programs are not a duplication of efforts,  Administration  asks that Council allow some time to work with these two groups to bring forward the best possible programs for Parkland County residents.  Given the time required to do this,  Administration suggests that a request for  decision on funding for the "Seed An Idea" project could be brought back to Council on May 22, 2012.
