Proposed Motion(s)
That Council approve $43,287 from Restricted Surplus - Recreation Facilities for the Village of Wabamun's Capital Cost Share Request as presented.
Body
Administration Recommendation(s)
Administration supports the recommendation as proposed as they are necessary upgrades to maintain current facility demands.
Purpose
As part of its recreation cost share agreement with the Village of Wabamun, Council may, at its discretion, provide funding support for capital repairs and upgrades at the Wabamun Arena.
Summary
Due to some changes in Administration at the Village of Wabamun, there was a significant delay in receiving their capital cost share requests to be included in the 2015 budget. As a result, Administration is recommending that the request be approved to be included as part of the spring budget adjustment process. In 2014, the Village of Wabamun repainted the exterior of the building as it was in a deteriorated condition, they had a major overhaul on their ice resurfacer in an attempt to extend its lifespan, upgraded their electrical room and had to replace some pressure release vavles.
