Purpose
To approve the three year Wabamun Medical Clinic Memorandum of Understanding and Interim Agreement

Summary
The Wabamun Area Medical Society approached Council in November, 2019 with a framework and operational plan for reopening the Wabamun Medical Clinic. On February 11, 2020 Council approved "... a one year funding agreement with the Wabamun Area Medical Society to a maximum of $60,000 per year for the Wabamun Medical Clinic operational expenses, with an optional second year agreement, if required and to be approved by Council conditional on the ratification of amenable terms and conditions.". In addition, Council authorized "... Administration to accommodate the Wabamun Medical Clinic within the West Central Fire Hall long term, and immediately after construction of the facility.".

Subsequently, discussions occurred with the four parties involved with the re-establishment and operation of the clinic including the Village of Wabamun, Westview Primary Care Network, the Wabamun Area Medical Society and Parkland County and, a Memorandum of Understanding and Interim Agreement was drafted and executed June 1, 2020 (attached). This item is back before Council, as Council initially approved Administration entering into a one year funding agreement with an option for a second year. The Memorandum of Understanding and Interim Agreement was executed for a three year term with no change in funding required from what Council has already approved.

There is no further financial commitment required at this time and a three year term aligns more with the timelines for construction of the new Fire Hall where the clinic will be housed when completed. Administration wil...
