That Council support Parkland County’s application to the Forest Resource Improvement Association of Alberta (FRIAA) FireSmart Program for $100,000 to develop one County-wide Wildfire Preparedness Guide and nine Sprinkler Deployment Plans, as presented.

Purpose
To obtain Council support, as required by the FRIAA FireSmart Program for Parkland County to apply for up to $100,000 in funding to develop a wildfire preparedness guide and sprinkler deployment plans.
Summary
Fire Services Administration is working with the Forest Resource Improvement Association of Alberta (FRIAA) to apply for grant funding. The proposed project will provide Fire Services with standardized pre-incident planning resources to support wildfire response, structure protection, evacuation considerations, water supply, sprinkler deployment, and coordination with mutual-aid resources.
Historical Information:
Council approved funding in 2025 for the completion of the 2025 Wildfire Hazard and Risk Assessment.
One of the key outcomes of the assessment was a recommendation to develop standardized wildfire preparedness and structure protection plans for high-risk communities within Parkland County.
