Purpose
To transfer $75,000 from the 2025 municipal elections budget to 2024 for the 2025 election expenses that will be incurred in 2024
Summary
Each year through the budget process administration allocates funds into restricted surplus to fund municipal election activities. Typically, the budget dollars are spent in the year of the planned election, however with organization resource changes and required procurement commitments for election supplies for the upcoming 2025 municipal election, administration will be required to incur costs in 2024 ahead of 2025 budget approval. Therefore, administration is requesting that $75,000 in 2025 budget dollars be transferred to 2024 to allow for procurement agreements to be initiated and executed. The 2025 municipal election budget will then be reduced by the same amount to offset this cost with the annual contribution continuing as planned for future election years.
