Purpose
This presentation provides an overview of the Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) and their work within Parkland County.
Summary
The NCC is a non-profit charity that supports land conservation through land donation/purchase, conservation agreements, and public land partnerships. The NCC conserves nearly 700ha of land in Parkland County including the Wagner Natural Area, Bunchberry Meadows Conservation Area, and the Clifford E. Lee Nature Sanctuary. Parkland County falls within their Capital Conservation Region and a number of conservation priorities exist within the County's boundaries. The NCC considers Parkland County a key partner in this region and identifies opportunities for collaboration including leveraging partners and investment, and finding natural infrastructure solutions to shared objectives.
