Administration Recommendations

Administration supports the proposed motions.

 

Purpose

Bylaw No. 2015-36 authorizes Parkland County to collect a fee from serviced properties as identified in the bylaw to offset the cost of transit service in the Acheson Industrial Area.

 

Summary

The net cost of transit service to Acheson Industrial Area will be offset by the collection of a fee from the serviced properties as identified in the proposed bylaw.  The fee will be imposed based on assessed value of the properties zoned for industrial and commercial land uses as identified on Schedule A of Bylaw No. 2015-36.  Council is authorized by the Municipal Government Act to prepare a bylaw for the collection of fees for public utilities as public transportation is identified as a public utility.
