EDTAC Committee supports the Motion that Council consider, review and provide comments on the First Place Program.
Summary
The First Place Program was presented on January 14th, 2013 EDTAC meeting by ABA Rep, Natalie Birnie. This program idea was taken from the City of Edmonton and the purpose was to attract and retain young people and foreign workers in the Edmonton area by allowing them to purchase their first homes for affordable prices. The program provides entry-level market housing for employed, first time home buyers with modest incomes. EDTAC believes this initiative would help to attract and retain much needed skilled workforce in the tri-municipal area.
