Administration supports receiving the report as information and including the cost of detailed design in the 2016 budget.
Purpose
The Entwistle Pool Feasibility Study is being presented to Council for their information. Administration is seeking further direction with regards to next steps, in particular a decision around proceeding with detailed design.
Summary
The Entwistle Pool is nearing the end of its lifecycle and a decision needs to be made in regards to its future. The firm of Architecture Tkalcic Bengert (ATB) was engaged to conduct a feasibility study to determine the long term aquatic needs of the Entwistle area, and to offer options and a suggested approach to meet those needs. Based on their findings, ATB has recommended that a new facility be constructed as renovations would cost approximately 54% of replacement value of the facility. The presentation and Feasibility Study documents attached to this report set out the business case for the replacement of the Entwistle Pool.
