Proposed Motion

1. That Council accept the Agricultural Service Board update for information, as presented.

2. That Council approve the 2026-2027 Agricultural Service Board Work Plan, as presented.

Purpose

To provide an update on the Agricultural Service Board work.

 

Summary

The Agricultural Service Board (ASB) provides advice and recommendations to Council on matters of importance to agricultural producers. This update includes an overview of the ASB's work during 2025 and provides Council the opportunity to direct the work of the Board throughout 2026. A report to Council is also a requirement for receiving funding from the Government of Alberta under the ASB grant program and is required under the Agricultural Service Board Act.The ASB has also used public feedback from the 2025 Producer Dinner, and information from regular Provincial updates to recommend a new 2026-2027 Work Plan for Council approval.
