Purpose
To update Parkland County's Community Standards Bylaw 2023-19.
Summary
Administration has been working on the revision and drafting of new bylaws as part of the Major bylaw review project.
The Community Standards Bylaw was identified as one of the bylaws requiring updating. We updated the bylaw as a result of feedback from users and staff, as well as on best practices determined through a municipal scan. The initial draft was taken to public consultation, many conversations were had with residents about the bylaw however we received very few concerns around the changes. There were concerns over unsightly properties as well as neighbour disputes. We heard validation to the changes being implemented. Internal and external feedback were incorporated into the final draft that was submitted for a legal review.
Bylaw 2023-19 - Community Standard received first reading on December 12, 2023.
