Proposed Motions

1. That Bylaw 2024-22 receive first reading.

2. That a Public Hearing be scheduled for November 26, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Parkland County Centre, Council Chambers to hear public comment on Bylaw 2024-22.

Administration Recommendation

Administration supports Bylaw 2024-22 and recommends that Bylaw 2024-22 be supported by Council as the proposed Bylaw is in alignment with Provincial and regional statutory requirements.

 

Purpose

Parkland County's Municipal Development Plan has been updated to reflect the growth and land use changes experienced both regionally and within Parkland County.

 

Summary

Work for proposed Bylaw 2024-22 was completed over two (2) Phases: Phase 1- Technical Growth Study and Phase 2- Municipal Development Plan Update. An update was completed to respond to several regional and economic changes including the phase out of coal, integration of Wabamun into Parkland County, alignment to the Regional Agricultural Master Plan, and general policy updates to better align and support other County initiatives. Proposed Bylaw 2024-22 incorporates updated technical information such as growth projections and patterns and clear streamlined policy.
