Purpose
To provide Council an overview of the amendments to the MGA and associated regulations.
Summary
The Government of Alberta has made a number of significant changes to the MGA and the associated regulations. Many of these changes came into force October 26, 2017 with the remaining changes to come into force in January and April 2018.
Administration has prepared the attached overview to advise Council of the dates for compliance, the County's current status, required actions, and the departments likely involved in those actions.

Taking the required actions to remain in compliance with the MGA supports Pillar 4 of the Parkland County Long Term Strategic Plan, Responsible Leadership.
