Purpose
Upon Councils approval Fire Services will purchase a Stretcher Mule to support the rugged extrication of patients on trails and remote areas accessible only by foot.

 

Summary
Fire Services has been awarded $8,700 through the Medical First Responder (MFR) Training and Equipment Fund for the 2025–2026 cycle. These funds will be used to enhance patient care and responder safety during emergency operations.

Specifically, the funding will support the purchase of a mule transport system, designed for rugged patient extrication from trails and remote areas accessible only by foot. This equipment will improve patient comfort, reduce physical strain on responders, and enable faster, safer transport to waiting ambulances.
