Purpose
To provide an update on the Nature Policy Framework development to support the conservation of Environmentally Significant Areas (ESAs), including proposed document content and policy areas.
Summary
Parkland County Council has requested a review and update of the County's framework on environmentally significant areas to support responsible management of natural assets and amenities as per the 2024-2025 Council Strategic Priorities. This project will create a policy framework to support these outcomes that is grounded in moving from identification of natural assets and environmentally significant areas to conservation. It will enable conservation and stewardship tools and will be supported by policy in the Municipal Development Plan and Land Use Bylaw.
