Body
Administration Recommendation
Administration supports rescinding the Lake Isle Area Structure / Area Redevelopment (Bylaw 69-82)
Purpose
This is a Bylaw to rescind the Lake Isle Area Structure / Area Redevelopment Plan as its function is no longer applicable.
Summary
The Lake Isle Area Structure / Area Redevelopment Plan was adopted by Parkland County in 1982 as part of an inter-municipal effort between Parkland County, Lac. Ste. Anne County, and the Summer Villages of Silver Sands and South View. At the time, these municipalities were under the jurisdiction of the Yellowhead Regional Planning Commission who drafted the ASP/ARP. Both Summer Villages no longer recognize the ASP/ARP, and Lac Ste. Anne County repealed the ASP/ARP in 2002. Administration does not consider the document relevant today due to the fact that it is no longer valid in the adjacent municipalities which were initially a part of it, as well as its age and lack of updates. Administration has been in contact with a few potential landowners who are considering the development, or potential subdivision of their lands within the Lake Isle area. The Planning and Development Services Department believes that the ASP/ARP should be dealt with administratively prior to any potential future subdivision applications in the area.
At the time of this submission, Administration had not received any written comments regarding the propsed Bylaw.
