Administration recommends that Bylaw 2024-17 be defeated at third reading.
Purpose
On July 10, 2024, Council tabled the third reading of proposed Bylaw 2024-17 to the September 10, 2024 Council Meeting to allow administration time to explore alternative options for presentation to Council.
Summary
On June 25, 2024, both first and second readings were approved for proposed amending Bylaw 2024-17. Third reading did not receive unanimous consent at that meeting so third reading was presented to Council on July 10, 2024. At the July 10, 2024, Special Council Meeting, Council tabled third reading to September 10, 2024.
Administration is recommending that Bylaw 2024-17 be defeated at third reading so that additional options can be presented to Council for consideration. Once these options are presented, and direction has been received, a new bylaw will be drafted for review and approval by Council.
