Summary
The County has received an application from Alberta Spruce Industries to amend the Land Use Bylaw to allow "General Industrial Manufacturing / Processing" as a Discretionary Use within the Industrial Reserve District on a site specific basis.  The landowner, Alberta Spruce Industries, has been operating a wood manufacturing business on the site in Acheson Zone 7, adjacent to Hwy 628, since 1993.  As a legally non-conforming use, the existing business can continue to operate, however, may not expand.  The owner is seeking this amendment to allow for consideration of future expansion of the business.
