Purpose
Changes to Council Municipal Art Policy C-RP17 were presented to GPC on June 05, 2012, at which time GPC amended the definition of Local Artist to clarify eligible communties and approved recommending the revised policy to Council for approval.
Summary
One addition as well as clarifications to the purpose, definitions, and standards is proposed for Council Municipal Art Policy C-RP17. The addition is to allow for the acquisition of a piece of art for reproduction as a special gift every 5 years. This piece is to be handed out by Council in celebration of major milestones. Clarification has been provided for purpose, definition and standards based on the evolution of the Municipal Art program since its inception.

These changes will have little impact on staff as the acquisition of this additional piece of art will occur every five years.
