Title

Rosenthal Community Association License of Occupation - County Lands

Proposed Motion

That Council authorize Administration to issue a 25-year License of Occupation to Rosenthal Community Association to support access to their Community Hall, located at 1231 Township Road 524, as presented.

Body

Administration Recommendation

Administration supports the proposed motion.

Purpose

The Rosenthal Community Association has requested a License of Occupation to enable the relocation of access to its facility using Municipal Reserve lands. Relocation of access will address traffic safety and accessibility concerns associated with their current access off of Township Road 524.  They wish to utilize a portion of county land located within the adjacent residential subdivision, Meadows of Rosenthal, and described on subdivision Plan 1422298 as Lot 101MR within Block 2.

Traffic Safety: Reducing turning movements onto and off of Township Road 524. Increased traffic on Township Road 524 has created sightlines concerning vehicles entering or exiting the hall, especially during peak times and winter conditions.

Traffic Speed and Volume: Increased vehicle speed and traffic volume on Township Road 524 heightened safety risks for residents attending hall events.

Accessibility: Improving safe and convenient access for residents attending community events.

Event Safety: Event-related congestion and an open gate create near-miss risks, particularly for children and pets near the roadway.

Strategic Plan/Policy/Legal/Staff Implications:
