Administration supports the Strategic Plan update.
Purpose
To update members of Council on progress related to 2016 initiatives contained in the 2016-2020 Council Action Plan, in addition to other initiatives underway throughout Parkland County and to provide an overview of the proposed Strategic Planning Framework for 2016 and 2017.
Summary
Council formally approved the 2016 - 2020 Strategic Plan on April 12, 2016. Subsequently, Administration prepared an Action Plan which outlined how Council’s Strategic Plan priorities would be accomplished. This was approved on April 26. 2016. Progress on the Action Plan and related initiatives are included in the 2016 Summary: Strategic and Organizational Priorities. In addition, Administration has provided information on projects and activities not contained in the Action Plan, as there is a substantial amount of work underway across Parkland County. Administration will also provide further detailed information and updates on specific projects as required or requested.
In addition, a Strategic Planning Framework for 2016 and 2017 will be presented. This will include a proposed process for the development of a long-term strategy for Parkland County.
Strategic Plan/Policy/Legal/Staff Implications
The update presented supports all areas of the Strategic Plan.
