1. The Nuisance Fire Alarm Prevention presentation be received for information, as presented.
2. Administration be directed to undertake the required public engagement process for a new bylaw as defined by Public Engagement Policy C-AD51.
3. Administration be directed to present to Council a Fire Alarm Prevention Bylaw after the public engagement process has been completed.

Purpose
In a workshop, Council requested Administration to present possible measures of reducing Fire Services' response to nuisance alarm calls.
Summary
Administration will present the data and financial impact that nuisance fire alarm calls has on Parkland County. A conceptual False Alarm Prevention Bylaw will be presented to the Committee of the Whole for review and discussion prior to presenting the Bylaw to Council.
Strategic Plan/Policy/Legal/Staff Implications
By implementing a cost recovery process, there will be additional workload on Fire Services to track and invoice for nuisance alarm calls. Financial Services will also see a slight increase with processing payments and managing unpaid invoices.
