Proposed Motion

The Committee recommends that Council provide three readings to Bylaw 2016-22 creating the Economic Diversification Committee, Community Sustainability Committee and Agricultural Service Board and dissolving certain existing committees.

Administration supports the proposed motions.

 

Purpose

To create the new Council committees to support implementation of the Strategic Plan, provide community input into Council decision making process, provide business/industry expertise, and ensure appropriate governance.

 

Summary

On December 8th, 2015, Council reviewed potential Council committee structures.  Administration’s understanding from this review was that Council wished to implement what was referred to at the time as, Model 2: Support Achievements of Long Term Strategic Plan.  Subsequent to the discussion on December 8th, 2015, Administration further analyzed Model 2:  Support Achievements of Long Term Strategic Plan from a committee structure and implementation perspective.  Administration now proposes the committee structure described in the Administrative Report.
