Purpose
To close a portion of road allowance for the purpose of lease.
Summary
The landowners of SW-01-51-01-W5 have made a request to Parkland County for the closure of an adjacent road, Township Road 510, as identified in Bylaw 2016-23. The landowners claim to have had numerous issues with people trespassing on their lands via the road allowance and inappropriately using their property (lighting fires, camping, partying) as well as leaving garbage along the road right-of-way and within their property. The purpose of this request is to permit the lease of the lands so the applicants may construct a fence and install a locked gate across the road allowance.
An internal Parkland County circulation and a notification to Alberta Transportation have been completed with no concerns identified.

Road Allowance and Diversions - Sales, Lease or Permitting Policy EN 009.
Financial Impact:
Revenue: Yearly lease rate per acre as set out in Parkland County's Fees & Charges Schedule, property tax on leased lands.
