Proposed Motion

That Council approve the development of an application for funding to the Federation of Canadian Municipalities' Green Municipal Fund, to support the economic analysis of the natural infrastructure in the Modeste Watershed.

Purpose

The purpose of this presentation is to ask for a Council Resolution on a motion to approve an application for funding to the Green Municipal Fund (GMF). The GMF is only available to Canadian municipalities and cannot be accessed by a not for profit organization.

 

Summary

Parkland County has been approached by the Headwaters Alliance and ALUS Canada to hold FCM funding for the economic analysis of natural infrastructure in the Headwaters region. Specifically, the project will support and contribute to a number of the high level planning documents that the County is currently preparing and assist the County’s stewardship programs in accessing new funding related to green infrastructure for project implementation.
