Administration supports the proposed motions. 

 

Purpose

On October 25, 2016, Council approved a new Committee structure and appointed members to the new Committees on April 25, 2017.  The Municipal Planning Commission is not part of that new Committee structure.   The role of these new Committees includes providing advice to Council on planning and development matters.

 

Summary

With the elimination of the MPC, the new committees will provide advice and recommendations to Council on planning and development matters.  Staff processing of applications previously taken to MPC is allowing, and will continue to allow, consistent and timely decisions, and improved customer service.
