Purpose
The Wabamun Sub-Watershed Land Use Plan; the Phase 4 toolbox is being presented to the Committee of the Whole to be accepted as information.
Summary
The Wabamun Sub-Watershed Land Use Plan (WLSLUP) was accepted by Council on December 2016. The Wabamun plan supports responsible land use practices in the Wabamun watershed. In December, Administration stated one item to be finalized in 2017 was the Phase 4 Toolbox. The Toolbox was designed to assist both the County in further development of future lake land use plans and to serve various lake user groups as a template and guiding document to help inform future lake planning in and around Parkland County lakes.
Strategic Plan/Policy/Legal/Staff Implications
The Toolbox does not commit the County to fund or resource any programs, projects or steps reflected in the Phase 4 Toolbox. However, the toolbox will need to to be updated as needed by Administration as the County continues to enhance its lakes and sub-watersheds.
