Purpose
Parkland County has entered into discussions with the Parkland School District to transfer ownership of the Keephills School facility to Parkland County
Summary
In preparation and recognizing some work needs to take place on the facility in 2017 prior to Winter, Administration proposes council approve the following expenditures from the Hamlet Sustainability Restricted Surplus;
1) 100,000 to demolish the portables and enclose the structure.
2) 100,000 for the provision of HVAC life cycle replacements.
This work will be completed through the summer into the fall. As part of the overall Parkland County capital program, items that require attention over the next number of years will be accounted for and planned for. These primarily will include;
1) Gym Roof remediation
2) Building envelope - Cladding
Parkland County will be working with the local Community Association to ensure they are part of all of the planning and budgeting process for this facility.
