Summary
The ECC had anticipated a slower transfer of clients onto the AFRRCS, recently this has changed with several groups looking to migrate sooner for operational reasons. With this investment, the ECC is in a position to retain current clients and offer full connectivity to the AFRRCS to future clients. In support of this investment, the ECC Master Plan recommended that ECC conduct a full replacement with the console system that supports full integration with AFRRCS”. This upgrade will complete the final link to be fully integrated with AFRRCS. A number of current customers of the ECC are either actively transferring or are in the planning process of utilizing the AFRRCS system. This will also open new opportunities to other possible clientele for the ECC.
To complete the migration the ECC also needs to make changes to the vintage 900 MHz link that resides on the Glory Hills radio tower. The equipment that is currently used on this link services 15 fire departments and 1 enforcement service agency. This link is outdated and is identified in the ECC Master Plan to be replaced with radio over internet protocol (ROIP) technology, which is both more reliable and has the ability for remote monitoring and redundancies in the AFRRCS environment for our customers.
