Proposed Motion

That the Council Committee Review be received for information.

Administration Recommendation

Administration supports a review of committees that members of Council are appointed to.

 

Purpose

In preparation for the October 23, 2018 Organizational meeting of Council, Administration presents an opportunity for the Committee of the Whole to discuss internal and external committees and the suitability for appointments to the committees that will be an advantage to the municipality.

 

Summary

In accordance with the Municipal Government Act, Section 192, municipalities must hold an Organizational meeting where members of Council are appointed to committees, boards, and commissions.  A review and discussion of the current committees, boards, and commissions that members of Council are appointed is an opportunity to identify Council's priority in in good governance.
