Purpose
TransAlta has submitted two (2) Linear Property assessment complaints and one (1) Designated Industrial property assessment complaint, which may reduce the County's tax revenue.
Summary
TransAlta has now filed both Linear and Designated Industrial assessment complaints asking for a reduction in assessed value which would potentially reduce tax revenue by as much as $8 million for 2019 tax year. Parkland County has asked to be an active participant in the hearing. Parkland County has also hired legal counsel to help support the process. Both hearings have dates now set and preparation for defence has commenced.
