Purpose

To present Council at the Committee of the Whole meeting an update of the Jury presentation and status of the Smart Cities Challenge application.

 

Parkland County has been selected as a Smart Cities Challenge Finalist and is currently working towards the final application.

 

Summary

Parkland County has been selected as a Smart Cities Challenge Finalist and is currently working towards the final application. Parkland County had won $250,000 to hire a team of consultants for five (5) areas of the strategy, as follows:

- Incubator Design

- Community Engagement

- Infrastructure Assessment and Gap Analysis

- Strategy and Application

- Sustainability Plan

 

On November 8, 2018 a ten minute presentation was made to the Smart Cities Challenge Jury by Parkland County staff.  This presentation was not intended for point value for the application, but rather an opportunity for the Jury to understand the project and initiatives for adjudication.
