Proposed Motion
That Mayor Rod Shaigec be appointed as a member of the Edmonton Metropolitan Region Board Shared Investment for Shared Benefit Task Force, effective December 13, 2018, and that Councillor John McNab be appointed as alternate member.

Purpose
Council's appointment of a member and alternate member to the Edmonton Metropolitan Region Board (EMRB) Shared Investment for Shared Benefit Task Force authorizes attendance, participation, and remuneration for the appointed members.

Summary
At the January 22, 2019 Council meeting, three members of Council were not in attendance to appoint elected officials to the Task Force. Members of Council in attendance at the January 22nd Council meeting unanimously agreed to table this matter to the February 12, 2019 Council meeting for consideration, as presented.

The Shared Investment for Shared Benefit Task Force has been formed by the members of EMRB to increase the region's competitiveness and collaboration, sharing investments to support regionally beneficial projects and initiatives. It has been determined that investments and resulting benefits need to be shared equitably among the municipalities. The purpose of the Shared Investment for Shared Benefit Task Force project is to develop a model to identify regional projects and initiatives that require shared investment among the municipalities. The model will provide a tool to quantify the required investments and resulting benefits and determine an equitable distribution of both. The project will provide recommendations on the implementation and governance of the Shared Investment for Shared Benefit model.
