That the Whitewood Employment Area Land Use Planning Scope of Work be received for information, as presented.

Administration Recommendation

That Council accept the information contained in the Administrative Report regarding the Whitewood Employment Area Land Use Planning Scope of Work.

 

Purpose

The Scope of Work in the attached Administrative Report has been prepared by Administration in response to a motion made by Mayor Shaigec on January 22, 2019. The motion reads that "administration be directed to draft a work plan that evaluates the community and economic opportunities for the local Whitewood employment area as identified in the Parkland County’s Municipal Development Plan."

 

Summary

Administration has Council with a high-level scope of work for prearing land in the local Whitewood Employment Area for development. This scope of work includes the project steps and provides rough estimates for the time and resources required to complete this work.

 

Strategic Plan/Policy/Legal/Staff Implications:

This Scope of Work potentially supports development of the Whitewood Local Employment Area identified on Figure 7 of the Municipal Development Plan Bylaw 2017-14. The Scope of Work also supports the Strategic Pillars of Complete Communities and Strategic Economic Diversification in the Parkland County Long-Term Strategic Plan.
