Council Appointments to the Regional Plan Committee
Proposed Motion
That Council appoint the Mayor and one Council member to the Regional Plan Committee; and, that one Council member be appointed as an alternate.

Purpose
The Regional Plan is an important initiative for the tri-region, and representation from elected officials from each of Parkland County, Spruce Grove, and Stony Plain will serve to ensure the needs of residents and ratepayers are represented.
Summary
Parkland County is leading a process to enhance long term strategic planning from a tri-regional perspective. The plan will explore opportunities for focused economic development, coordinated growth and development, and alignment of policy and governance. A Regional Plan Committee is being established to perform the governance function for the project and to oversee the development of various RFPs to validate the scope of work. Two representatives, plus one alternate, are being appointed by each of the three Councils. Meetings will be scheduled as required, approximately once per month for the term of the project (estimated end date of March 31, 2021).
