Administration supports the recommendation to receive for information the policy review framework.
Purpose
Administration reviews Council policies to be presented to Council for approval. Administration has developed a framework to assist members of Council and staff with the ongoing initiative to review policies, directives, and procedures. The policy framework is a guide to proceed with continued review and development of Council policies.
Summary
Council policies are based on Council's values and priorities, and strategic direction. Existing Council policies may be approved, amended, or rescinded by Council resolution. Policies are to comply with federal and provincial government legislation and regulations, Council's Strategic Plan, County bylaws, and policies. To aligned with Council's strategic direction, Administration has developed a framework to review Council policies.
