Title

9:30 a.m. Public Hearing - Bylaw 2020-16 Use Classification Amendment to Land Use Bylaw 2017-18

Proposed Motions

1. That Bylaw 2020-16 receive second reading.

2. That Bylaw 2020-16 receive third and final reading.

3. That Council approve electronic signature for Bylaw 2020-16 in accordance with Section 213 of the Municipal Government Act.

Body

Administration Recommendation

Administration supports the motions, as presented.

Purpose

To reintroduce uses to Land Use Bylaw 2017-18 that were previously included in the Agricultural General (AGG) District, the Entwistle Urban Village (EUV) District, and the Rural Centre (RC) District.

Summary

A periodic review of Land Use Bylaw 2017-18 brought to light that ten use classes across three districts were unintentionally omitted during a 2016 reformatting project. The affected districts were: Agricultural General (AGG) District, Entwistle Urban Village (EUV) District, and Rural Centre (RC) District.

Administration is proposing to amend the Land Use Bylaw to ensure that existing developments within these districts may re-build, re-develop, and expand. The reintroduction of these uses will align with the overall purpose of the respective districts and enable the Development Authority to consider new developments that align with their intent.

On December 8, 2020, Council gave first reading to Bylaw 2020-16 and set a public hearing date of January 26, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. to hear public comments on this Bylaw.

Strategic Plan/Policy/Legal/Staff Implications:

Bylaw 2020-16 has been written to align with the Parkland County Long Term Strategic Plan and Municipal Development Plan Bylaw 2017-14.
