Purpose

To provide the Committee of the Whole with a project status update regarding the Acheson Industrial Area Structure Plan review, for information.

 

Summary

On July 7, 2020, Administration introduced the Acheson Industrial Area Structure Plan project to the Committee outlining the two project phases and associated deliverables.This project status update relates to Phase 1: Administrative Updates. The update (as outlined in Attachment 1. Administrative Report) highlights work completed by Administration to date, including a review of existing policy and gap analysis, internal department review, and preliminary stakeholder engagement. In addition, it provides a brief overview of items of interest that emerged from the review, including new ASP document layout, infill development, and local plans. 

 

Strategic Plan/Policy/Legal/Staff Implications:

The Acheson Industrial Area Structure Plan project will be drafted to conform to Municipal Development Plan Bylaw 2017-14 and will support the strategic pillars of Strategic Economic Diversification, Responsible Leadership, Respected Environment, and Complete Communities as outlined in Council's Long Term Strategic Plan.
